As a branch of the organization Kiva.org, Campus Kiva is a national network of college chapters which seeks to engage students in microlending. Campus Kiva works to establish permanent microfinance clubs on campuses across the country and provides them with the resources they need to participate in group lending through Kiva.org.
Wokai is a 501c3 non-profit organization that enables Chinese people to lift themselves from poverty. Wokai is Chinese for "start" demonstrating its commitment to helping the impoverished help themselves. Through their website, they connect contributors worldwide with entrepreneurs in rural China to help them start small businesses. They have more than 80 active representatives across the US and in China.
The Transformative Action Institute is devoted to training a new generation of social entrepreneurs, innovators, visionaries, and problem-solvers for the 21st century. TAI teaches an award-winning curriculum that teaches students in the most effective skill-sets of social entrepreneurship and innovation. The course has spread to 20 top universities within the past four years including, Princeton, Yale, Cornell, NYU, and UCLA. TAI?s vision is to spread its course to 200 campuses across the nation by 2014.
The Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University connects academic study with community and public service to strengthen communities and develop effective public leaders. The Center aspires to develop aware, engaged and thoughtful citizens who contribute to the realization of a more just and humane world.
